{Hello, again}

I do apologize for being so absent; picture-wise and word-wise.
I've been terrible busy starting volunteering at the Red Cross on Camp Pendleton, starting a new CNA job, starting some modelling work, sewing, family stuff, health issues, taking care of my animals, etc., etc.
It's good for me to be super busy though,
because I think too much.

I turned 25 last Thursday!
On Friday I went to a big sale at Frock You in San Diego.
I'm so very glad that I did.. I only spent $99 and got:

- a 2 piece Victorian circus costume
- the top part of another Victorian circus costume
- a teal polka dotted 50's frock
- an aqua wool 50's gown
- a black velvet 50's gown
- a black wool 50's sweater
- a brown wool Dirndl
- a multicolored striped 50's beach dress with a sailor's collar
- a blue 50's wiggle dress
- this Edwardian dress

I'm still alive!
Dealing with health issues from the surgery I had in March.. not very fun at all.

When it rains in here
It's storming on the sea.

Then nothing but the blues are brewin', the blues are brewin'.

{What Next}

"There's a loneliness that only exists in one's mind.
The loneliest moment in someone's life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly."

{Out on the town}

Yesterday we went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science to see a film about the Mayan 2012 prophecies.
It was neat; we learned how they developed their calenders and used them with the stars to predict the future.
After the film we walked around downtown Houston (it wasn't too terribly hot luckily) and stopped at a taco shop for some drinks.

I got this sweet 1950's frock from work.
It was a little plain so I replaced the tan buttons with black ones and added a 1950's belt.
I found my 1950's era beret at the thrift store on Fort Knox when I lived there.
A lucky find indeed!

{Hello, Doll}

Meet Florence, my 100 year old boudoir doll.
I spotted her in a cabinet at work nestled with 2 other boudoir dolls (still kicking myself for not taking them home too) and I just had to take her home with me!
She really is in great shape for her age- her white and blue silk Edwardian dress is original.

Travis told me that she is creepy.. I completely and heartily disagree, and told him to brace himself because I already ordered 2 more on Etsy from the 1930's and 1940's!!!
Being the avid sale shopper I am, they were cheap because they need restoration, but I've been reading up on composition doll repair and am excited (and nervous) to give it a go.

{Some days are just better spent with animals and computers}

I made egg-stuffed peppers for Travis' breakfast this morning.
It's the only think that went right today :/
I am going to eat honeycomb and read Pippi Longstocking now.

This is a 1940's frock I found in the zipper repair pile at work.
After I fixed it, it just had to come home with me!

I've been so busy....
Life has taken me away and I do not have much time for being on my computer heehe.
Family, home life, health, nursing, sewing, cooking, cleaning.. the days pass by so quickly now.
