Vintage Adventures

Howdy! I'm a crafty gal living in the Golden State of California; all about vintage clothes, swing dancing, knitting, cooking, books
and adventures!

{Past due: 4th of July}

Well since I finally moved to a better neighborhood and have internet, I can catch up on my posts.
I have so much to tell!
Travis and I spent the 4th of July in Galveston; being a bathing beauty contestant in May, I was asked to ride atop a float in a parade and throw beads to the crowds.
We left early to beat traffic and had breakfast at a vegan place, The Lunchbox Cafe.
I had a tofu sandwich, coffee and ginger soda.
I wore a kimono over my 1955 bathing suit to protect my skin from the sun.
Despite applying copious amounts of lavender-coconut sunblock I still got burned a bit.

  2. Thank you! I bought the swimsuit shortly before a vintage event here in Houston. I saw 2 different 1920's Jantzen suits in a store and was hoping they would still be there but alas, no.. so I went with a 50's one instead ^^
